Watford will discuss any offers for Abdoulaye Doucoure in the summer, after the midfielder revealed Liverpool would be a dream move for him.

But Hornets boss Javi Gracia insists Doucoure can have the European football he strives for at Vicarage Road.

The 25-year-old made no secret of his desire to move to Anfield earlier this week, amidst speculation abroad that the Premier League's top clubs were preparing a swoop.

"Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction," he told Canal+ .

"I was impatient to play there at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere. For me it would be a dream to play in a club like this."

Gracia, who took charge of Watford in January, has conceded there would have to be talks if there was interest in Doucoure, with suggestions the club rate him at £40million.

But he insists his 'big, big club' will try to give Doucoure what he needs.

"If there is an offer, we will discuss to find the best solution," Gracia said. "Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, the big competitions.

"He is playing now for a big, big club - Watford.

"Maybe in the future he can play for another big club who plays in the Champions League. But I would like him to play in the future for Watford in Europe.

"I'm sure Doucoure will help us with his best attitude until the end of the season. Then we will see what happens. I would like him to stay with us for a long time."

The Frenchman, who has scored seven league goals this season, joined Watford from Rennes for £8million at the end of the January transfer window in 2016, penning a four-and-a-half-year deal.

He was immediately loaned to Granada in La Liga for the remainder of that season before returning for the 2016-17 campaign.

It was reported back in January that the Hornets had offered their midfielder an improved contract worth around £70,000 a week.
