Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne headed to a Liverpool school to visit pupils earlier this week.

The Reds duo made the short trip from Melwood to Blackmoor Park Junior School in West Derby, where they spent the afternoon with 270 children from years four, five and six, signing autographs, taking photos and answering the youngsters’ questions.

Last season, LFC committed to first-team stars visiting schools in the local area after autographs and photos outside Melwood were prohibited for health and safety reasons.

This new scheme provides a safer environment for young fans to collect autographs and allows even more local children to meet their heroes face to face.

The players also joined a memorial for Blackmoor Park pupil Bobby Colleran, who died in 2014 after being involved in a road traffic accident outside the school.

On what would have been his 10th birthday, Bobby’s classmates held a celebration of his life and re-iterated the important road safety messages of the ‘Slow Down For Bobby’ campaign, which his family launched following his tragic death.
