‘God’.

As nicknames go, Robbie Fowler’s is pretty hard to beat.

To this day, the man who scored 183 goals in 369 appearances across two spells with Liverpool is held in such reverence by the Anfield faithful.

Fowler is the subject of the third episode of ‘Premier League Heroes’, which chronicles the story of his rise from Academy hopeful to club legend.

Ian Rush, Roy Evans and Michael Owen are among those to offer glowing tributes to the Toxteth-born striker, who won two League Cups, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup during his time with the Reds.

“He was an absolutely magnificent and natural goalscorer,” says Liverpool’s most prolific marksman Rush, who mentored Fowler when he burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old.

“I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a striker with my own eyes that hits the ball so correctly, so purely. He just had everything that you’d want in a finisher,” adds Ballon d’Or winner Owen.

Evans, Fowler’s former manager, notes simply: “There’s only one word: God.”

Watch ‘Premier League Heroes’ on LFCTV at 6.30pm BST this evening.
