Robbie Fowler last week visited CHICS (Children’s Cancer Support Group) in Alder Hey to surprise young patient George Crumbleholme as part of Standard Chartered’s support of LFC Foundation Day.

George was sadly diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in April 2013 but has now completed all intensive chemotherapy and is undergoing maintenance treatment as he overcomes the illness.

Fowler invited George to watch training at Melwood training ground before he met the playing squad ahead of their Barclays Premier League fixture with Watford.

After meeting the team, captain Jordan Henderson and vice-captain James Milner then invited him to be the mascot for Jürgen Klopp’s side as they visited Vicarage Road.

George’s trip was made possible thanks to Standard Chartered’s support of LFC Foundation Day. Watch a free video of his special surprise above.
