Liverpool U23s hope to maintain their excellent form at the top of Premier League 2 when they face Chelsea at Cobham on Saturday afternoon.

Neil Critchley's side are five points clear at the summit of the division and produced a convincing display to beat second-placed Everton 4-0 last Saturday.

The young Reds have also scored the most goals in PL2 so far, firing 22 in 10 games and conceding only eight.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Saturday's trip to Chelsea...

Last season head-to-head: In the away fixture Chelsea won 4-1, despite a brilliant goal from Harry Wilson. In the return fixture at Prenton Park back in March, the U23s got their revenge winning 2-0. Wilson netted the opener and Trent Alexander-Arnold curled home a fantastic free-kick.

View from the manager, Neil Critchley

"I was really proud of the boys during our win over Everton last weekend. I thought they were excellent from start to finish and we caused them a lot of problems.

"We scored some great goals and the finish from Rhian Brewster when he was picked out superbly by Herbie Kane was just a fantastic goal.

"We have played some excellent football this season and it's no more than the boys deserve because we have got quality and ability - we see that every day in training.

"We face another tough test against Chelsea but hopefully we can maintain our high standards and perform well."
